Until 2013, Pfizer Inc owned an exclusive UK patent on this popular ED medication. And in 2020, Pfizer’s remaining patents on viagra expired. Pfizer’s initial discovery opened a profound and global conversation about erectile dysfunction, but now this exclusive patent has come to an end — the race to replace viagra is on.
